Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery that exists throughout the United States and globally. The sad reality is that this underground industry grew by fifty percent in New York State alone, just last year. In 2016, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimated that 1 in 6 reported runaways were likely sex trafficking victims.

The Rochester Athletic Club for Women is dedicated to bringing women together to foster healthy living practices through recreational exercise and community spirit. We have joined forces with Anthology Live concert venue and Angels of Mercy, a local organization that helps women and girls in need, in our community and around the world. On March 11th 2018, we will be hosting an event called, Empower the Day. Our mission on this day is to bring our community together through uplifting group exercise performances while shedding some light on a very dark cause - human trafficking.

 

All donations will be put into fantastic raffle categories and will be raffled off at our event...amazing things are being donated as we speak by amazing people and businesses! All proceeds will benefit Angels of Mercy in their fight to raise awareness and funds to stop human trafficking. Thank you for helping The Rochester Athletic Club for Women, Angels of Mercy and Anthology Live raise awareness for this very important cause.

 

Remember that anyone can come, whether you're working out with us or you are supporting the cause. Men and women are welcome and you do NOT need to be an RAC FOR WOMEN member to join...just a person with a heart to kick this fight against human trafficking up a notch!!!
